Judy Martin was born in Tacoma, Washington and has been in Cleveland since 1967. She has been a member of the InternationalBenevolent Protective Order of Elks of the World (Evelyn B. King Glenara Temple#21) since about 1992. She also been a member of Black onBlack Crime, Inc. since July 1994. Shehas held the several different offices as an Elk but most of the time has beena Financial Secretary. She has been theSecretary and Treasurer of BBCI since 1994. She is also the founder of Survivors/Victims of Tragedy, Inc., a supportgroup for those who have lost a loved one to violence. She was active in the Head Start organizationfrom approximately 1970 - 1984. She hasalso participated in VOICES, the Task Force for Community Mobilization, and theGreater Cleveland Million Moms,a Chapter of the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence.
