About Me

Born & raised in New Orleans, moved to Los Angeles in 1964 where I worked for the City and the Federal Government (Army Corps of Engineers), started my first business in Fashion Design and opened a shop, started my wedding and travel businesses as well. Got married and assisted with a catering business started by my then husband while still operating my businesses.  In 1979 I moved to St. Croix, worked for Scotia Bank 5 years while building my travel, wedding and decorating business, then worked for the STX Hotel Association until Hurricane Hugo hit, Opened Professional Placement Services (training and placing folks in the hospitality industry). Worked with Camp Arawak as an Asst. Mgr and teaching entrepreneurship. Started the St. Croix Toastmasters Club and the St. Croix People Society (People to People Program). Worked at the University of the Virgin Islands Extension Program conducting time Mgmnt workshops as well as food prep. Worked with The Hal Jackson Talented Teens Program doing stage sets and speech prep. Asst. Mgr. at St. Croix by the Sea Hotel and Asst. Mgr. at St. C. Condos, before returning to New Orleans and working at the Elms Mansion as the Catering and wedding Director, then the Radisson Hotel before leaving to work full time with my own businesses. I have recently discontinued doing local weddings, but still do destination weddings along with my travel business full time. I am also currently the Research and Development Director for Friends of Culture.
