Atlanta native Tregaye Fraser is a seasoned chef who likes to twist old fashioned recipes with her own unique flair. Tregaye has a passion for the untraditional. She is very passionate about teaching others how to eat better for health. She learned the basics at Le Cordon Bleu, but she soon realized that her love for cooking came from her youthful soul and love for fusion cuisine. Tregaye prides herself on creating new ways of preparing masterpieces, whether it is a gluten-free menu or down-home cooking. She is a successful self-employed mother who relates best to a younger generation. Being a wife and mother, her passion is ensuring that parents learn fun ways of preparing their child's favorite dishes in a healthier, fun, and exciting way. Growing up eating her grandmother's farm-fresh cooking, Tregaye developed her love for the culinary arts. With her unique and uber creative way of designing masterpieces, she became known nationally for taking everyday foods and turning them into whimsical cuisine or food fusion. Being skilled in creating dishes from 24 different countries has afforded her the opportunity to prepare dishes for the likes of Food Network, then-Senator Barack Obama, the prince of Saudi Arabia, actor Carl Anthony Payne, and rapper T.I. The business-savvy chef has also opened restaurants as a restaurant consultant for Mad House Restaurant and Bar. Tregaye is the winner of season 12 of “Food Network Star,” and the first African American woman to win the contest. After winning, she became a host on the Food Network TV show “The Kitchen Sink.” Along with winning “The Food Network Star,” Tregaye is a winner and two-time competitor of “Cutthroat Kitchen” and “Guy's Grocery Games.” Currently, Tregaye is the owner and chef of Chef Tregaye-N-Company, which offers personal chef services, catering, cooking classes, TV and event hosting, and a delectable variety of plant-based butter. Along with her thriving business, she is also the owner of a nonprofit, called Playing the Game Tour.
