I am an Associate Clinical Professor and Simulation Center Coordinator at the Auburn University College of Nursing. With 23 years of combined experience in nursing education, critical care, emergency nursing, long-term healthcare, and health information technology, I have dedicated the last decade to nursing education and healthcare simulation. I earned my Doctor of Nursing Practice from the University of Alabama in Huntsville in 2020, following my Master of Science in Nursing from Troy University in 2013 and my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Alabama in Huntsville in 2001. I hold certifications as a Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN-K) alumnus, Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator-Advanced (CHSE-A), and Certified Healthcare Simulation Operations Specialist (CHSOS). My expertise lies in coordinating and designing simulations to meet learner needs, and I am committed to advancing simulation through research and immersive active learning modalities. I serve as an Editor-in-Chief for StatPearls and contribute as a content writer forHealthsimulation.com. I am actively involved in professional organizations, including SSH, ASPE, and INACSL, where I serve on the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion committee and previously chaired the Nominations and Elections Committee (23-24). My research interests span simulation methodology, telehealth, virtual reality, fall prevention in older adults, interprofessional collaboration, emergency and critical care nursing, and health disparities. With several publications in nursing education, critical care, and simulation, my contributions to the field have been recognized with the 2024 INACSL Academic Excellence Award, the 2024Research Excellence Award, and the 2024 AUCON Distinguished Faculty Award.
