Teresa Stephenson is the Managing Partner and President of Platinum Properties. Along with her partners, she is heavily involved in the strategic planning for the company and is responsible for the day to day implementation of those strategies. Combining an extensive background in corporate training and an empathetic style of working with both her peers & clients, she offers a humanistic approach to real estate, believing that the success of any service-oriented business must be built on a foundation of strong and trusting relationships. Teresa moved to New York City after earning a BA from Vanderbilt University and an MFA in Acting from Rutgers University. She worked as an actress for twelve years while simultaneously growing a career as a corporate facilitator training some of the financial world’s top talent on communication and feedback skills at prestigious firms like Goldman Sachs & Deutsche Bank. Since transitioning to real estate, it’s this core framework and innate skill of advancing the talents and ambitions of other professionals – along with many years as a successful real estate agent – that she carries to her title at Platinum, where she personally oversees the career development of each of Platinum’s agents. Teresa began her real estate career at Platinum in 2012 because of her love for meeting new people, and quickly rose through the ranks from completing sales deals to overseeing sales and leasing, and finally becoming President & Managing Partner. Now she keeps her finger on the pulse of what’s happening in the real estate industry as a whole, adeptly taking that insight and handling strategic planning for the firm and its growth. She also continues to lead the sales, leasing, and marketing departments of Platinum to enduring success, showcased best by Platinum being named Streeteasy’s Premier Agent Team of the Year in 2018 under her supervision. Teresa is also honored to serve as the only New York City representative on Zillow’s Premier Agent Advisory Board, a twenty-eight-member national advisory board. In order to maintain Platinum’s internal values, Teresa is convicted in her approach to bringing a family mentality & sense of purpose to her agents and their clients. She intentionally keeps her team size manageable so each person gets the attention and experience they deserve from the top down, and ensures each client experiences the same undivided attention during one of the most important decisions of their lives, regardless of their transaction size. Above all, Teresa is inspired by the problem-solving and creativity that the real estate industry provides on a daily basis – there is no length she won’t go to provide a positive experience, and that trait is made clear through her diligence, curiosity, and passion for her work. In her spare time, Teresa enjoys visiting family, attending a new off-Broadway play, traveling, long distance running, or just curling up with a good book. She is also fluent in Spanish thanks to her Colombian roots.
