About Me

With a concentration in pediatric treatments as well as working with patients with neurological and orthopedic issues, Teresa Bristol, PT, Cert DN, DPT, opened Physical Therapy Works, an independent practice now located in East Point, Georgia, in 2014 with a focus on holistic patient health. Teresa uses her knowledge of the human body to reduce impairments, restore function and improve the quality of life of others in the Atlanta area. Teresa was an adjunct professor at her alma mater, where she taught neurology and orthopedic physical therapy for several years. Her passion for education and desire to help others prompted Teresa to fulfill her lifelong goal of obtaining a Doctorate in Physical Therapy at Nova Southeastern University, where she worked on her dissertation and research on low back pain. She received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2018. Teresa connects with a variety of organizations to increase community awareness about health, wellness, and fitness while “building community through connecting missing links.” She has organized and hosted carnivals for families with unique needs, assisted families with donations including clothes, equipment, and medication supplies, mentored aspiring physical therapy student and as well as aspiring young professional, volunteered with numerous organizations including homeless shelters, children’s shelters, and community service-based organizations, provided court-side treatment for Albany Technical College’s basketball team and delivered humanitarian aid to natives of Port de Paix, Haiti.
