Mother, Dr. of Divinity, Pastor, healthcare worker, and domestic violence survivor. Never in a million years did I ever imagine: I would become a statistic because of my abuser; I would become tangled in a complex, yet misunderstood, web of domestic violence; I would become a woman who would fall victim to physical, verbal, and emotional abuse; I have never accepted being pushed down two flights of stairs, lost my memory, broke my leg and woke up in the hospital. All I heard was ringing in my ears. I did not expect to be in court for over a year. My faith in God kept me alive. Years later I am a survivor.
