Sharleen Orphe JeanBaptiste was born and raised in South Louisiana. Relocated with husband and children to Dallas, Texas in 1987. Received associate degree in Interdisciplinary Studies in 1988. Worked in healthcare field for 18 years. After death of her husband she started a nonprofit safehouse for at-risk children; with the aide of University of North TX, where she received her Bachelors of Applied Arts and Sciences Degree with a Concentration in Community Development. Began teaching in Dallas County Schools in 1999-2003. Wrote several grants and proposals to keep LHCC and its programs operating for low income communities. Ms. JeanBaptiste published 2 book for beginners of Nonprofit Management.
