After leaving an abusive relationship that left me physically paralyzed in my spine and left limbs, I relocated to Virginia to start over. There was an overwhelming need for someone to do black hair in the area. In the last five years I’ve successfully ran my salon, started a line of wig vending machines in local malls, as well as hand making an entire line of hair growth products. My products are all organic and plant based, and they’ve shown growth in three weeks or less, even on alopecia clients that were told by doctors that they could no longer grow hair. My proudest moments are when I give women the mirror and they cry tears of joy and they hold their head a little higher. I can visibly witness their confidence coming back.
One Sunday per month I volunteer at local domestic violence shelters providing my services to the women and children free of charge. I also volunteer my services if they have a court appearance or a job interview. When you’re leaving that situation, your beauty products are not your priority. Safety is. Unfortunately, if you’re not put together correctly the world tends to disregard and discard you including the courts and potential employers.
17yrs into my career as a full-time stylist, my long term career goal is to open a specialty hair university that teaches different extension installation methods and wig making/installation.
Having birthed a premature daughter who suffered with severe eczema, my fight against scalp health is personal. Eczema patches in her scalp would cause hair loss, and I made it my mission to figure out how to treat and prevent that from happening. When it worked for my daughter I began using it on my clients as well. After seeing consistent results, they just about begged me to sell it to them. Over time, Growing Hands By Weavology Boutique was born.
My PlantBased/ParabenFree/NonGMO/Organic/HandMade/Vegan hair care products not only eradicates eczema/psoriasis in the scalp, but it has shown significant growth in three weeks or less even in clients with severe alopecia or other hair loss conditions previously deemed untreatable. For most stylists, the goal is to make you look good, so they will put cranial prosthetics on top of hair in any condition. My priority is healthy hair and that begins with a healthy scalp. Yes, I specialize in cranial prosthetics and extensions of all types, but it is my duty to nourish and revitalize the hair underneath as well. Add-ons should be an option, not a necessity.
