As a child I wanted to either be a singer or own a day spa. I became a very young single mom at 18 and put my dreams on the back burner to provide for my family. I went to cosmetology school in 2008. Did hair for a short time. Decided I didn't care much for doing the same thing every day. So I sold cars for a year before going into Business Development and customer service for various dealerships. Changed careers and went into behavioral health working with children and families towards reunification. After two years of that I switched to addiction and recovery counseling. I stayed there for nearly 10 years and did Nails on the side for myself and a selected few friends. Then Covid hit and everyone shut down. I didn't want to be locked down at work, with three kids at home. So I left and thus started my mobile nail services. They were high demand since everywhere had been shut down. I did this for 2 years. In 2021 I went back to behavioral health for a year and decided it wasn't for me anymore and pursued my passion. I worked in a few local nail salons and learned more about how I wanted to set a better standard for cleanliness, sanitation, and customer service! I established my LLC in 2022 but never utilized it. And continued to work in local shops out of fear of failure and not being able to compete with the "norm" of nail care. In November 2023 I got fired from a local nail shop for "not being like everyone else." So I branched off and rented a corner in a hair salon for a month. On December 30th 2023 I signed my first least to rent my very own space. Olympus Nails was officially opened in January of 2024!! Expansion begins December 2024 and In 2025 I will be able to accept insurance for certain nail care needs for my mobile clientele and hire my first employees!! I never gave up on myself. Just took a back seat to my own life to support those around me. Don't do that!!! Do the hard thing! Do the scary thing! And enjoy every moment of doing you!!!
