About Me

Beginning back in the 1970’s I use to write poetry and would speak in public.  I come from a large family with 9 girls and 4 boys. My mother was a single mom.  Actually I didn’t decide to write a book until years later getting the idea from my oldest brother who started writing his own book but didn’t finish it, unfortunately he passed away.  So as time went on it stayed in my mind over the years.  I am the mother of 4 children that are all grown now. For years I tried to find work. At the age of 17, I got a job washing dishes to buy my school clothes when I was a senior in high school.  Also a few years later I was a waitress at Big Boys restaurant.  I was on welfare for 17 years before I actually got a job that paid well.  That particular job was a Corrections Officer and I was in my 30’s when I got that job.  I was excited to be off welfare after being on for so long.  As the years went by I begin having trouble with keeping a job . I also graduated from College in 1977.  I received an Associate degree in a year and a half because I went through the summer and winter seasons. I actually was going to be a psychiatrist.  However, as I became older the thought of writing a book stayed stuck in my mind, so in 2019 is when I decided to give it a try.  So I decided and I did it with my oldest daughter helping me to publish it.  It was published in 2019.  It’s a memoir about my life from age 5 to 69. I am now 73. The title of my book is “Wilted to Full Bloom.“  My book consists of multiple topics for example, domestic violence, being a prison guard, extra sensory perception, dreams, sexual harassment and much more. My book was written for many reasons.  One was to hope to inspire others and to encourage others to follow their dreams and never give up.  Also in writing my book there were things I did out of anger and fear. Some things I chose to do were not to my liking but did them anyway. Once you read my book you will see that and why I did what I did.  II also enjoy listening to people and their problems and try to uplift them at the same time. I like to encourage people and tell them the right thing to do.  I like to be a good influence to people and guide them in the right direction.  I am a Godly woman and believe in doing the right thing. It’s never to late to reach your goals in life.  You must have faith. Be encouraged and never give up.
