Rhonda Jo Gilbertson-Evans is a punk rock poet, essayist, and spoken word artist from Moorhead, Minnesota. She is the proud partner of Brian, mother of two phenomenal women, and grandmother of 7.
Her work is an expression of the relationship Rhonda built in her thirty years working on the streets. She advocates for other people in the field to keep going.
Rhonda is the executive assistant to the executive director/board member of Life Care Unites Foundation, a hygiene bank that provides personal care items, cleaning supplies, and emergency cold-weather gear to people in need, no questions asked.
Rhonda is also an active board member of Parachigo, an alt artists' collective and event space in downtown Fargo.
Rhonda spends her time working with children with special needs and continues to fight homelessness and economic insecurity in the community. In her spare time, she gets in as much trouble as possible.
