About Me

Single senior independent woman enjoying the latter years of my life traveling, writing, relaxing, crafting, painting. Reading in my old 1998 Class C RV. I enjoy quilting, sports, "GO CHIEFS," coaching. and whatever catches my interest at the time. I've heard it said that it's in the valley where you learn and grow and not the Mountain top. I didn't intend for my address to be 1 Valley Road for my entire life, but it seems I made a mistake during my youthful years in my 20's. You know the age when you have all the answers and want to give God advice? Yes, I desired to help people, as a pastor, counselor etc. So in my immaturity I asked God one day. "God, how can I help people if I can't understand what they've been through?" Yes, did I say I was full of piss and vinegar with no wisdom? That was my Grandfathers quote to me. God granted my request, and I entered into the University of hard knocks. After 3 businesses were stolen from me. Other ideas stolen. Two divorces, single parenting, a 30 year business destroyed by a strong wind on Easter Sunday 1996. It was on that Easter Sunday I went into the office bathroom that still stood. Shut the door and cried my eyes out. I ask God how i was going to feed my three kids. The true journey of faith had just been activated. After an exhausting 3 years of returning to a university to finish an education, having to drive 85 miles one way two days a week. Working a graphic arts job on a flex schedule 40 plus hrs a week. Coaching my three kids sporting events whatever season it was, plus the regular homemaking responsibilities on 3.5 hrs sleep a night... the wick of life burning at both ends met in the middle. Poof I was down and out. Burnt out mentally, physically and spiritually. Just one more area I understood. I completed two BS degrees, 1 Masters and 1 Ph.D. in Pastoral Counseling and education. Passed the National board exam for Licensed Professional Counselors. However the state of Missouri refused to grant me a license because most of my education was through a Christian University and not a public indoctrination center that did not teach the area of my expertise in the 1980's. Another blow to my life. I could open a non profit and do anything a licensed psychologist could, except charge insurance companies. I found out that the problems people faced were usually those who had no insurance. It was then I realized, Yeshua never charged anyone for His service...so I didn't either. There have been a few mountain top experiences along the way, even God gives us a time out now and then. The kids are grown, with kids of their own. Busy lives that leave me to live full time in my RV working different campgrounds between visits. Trying Faith is my motto....for when you try faith, your faith gets tried.
