PASTOR TUCKER-JOHNSON IS A RETIRED EDUCATOR WITH THE HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT. PASTOR TUCKER-JOHNSON RECEIVED HER BACHELOR’S DEGREE FROM BETHUNE-COOKMAN COLLEGE IN ENGLISH EDUCATION. SHE HOLDS A MASTER’S DEGREE IN INSTRUCTION AND CURRICULUM FROM NATIONAL LOUIS UNIVERSITY, AND SHE HAS HER DOCTORAL DEGREE IN ORGANIZATIONAL LEADERSHIP FROM NOVA SOUTHEASTERN UNIVERSITY. SHE SERVED AS AN ADJUNCT PROFESSOR AT THE UNIVERSITY OF PHOENIX FOR 5 YEARS AND WORKED AT THE BOYS AND GIRLS CLUB EVERY SUMMER FOR 13 YEARS. AFTER WORKING OVER 35 YEARS WITH THE HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT, SHE STILL FINDS HER WAY TO VOLUNTEER IN THE SCHOOLS.
DR. JOHNSON IS AND ALWAYS HAS BEEN VERY ACTIVE IN THE COMMUNITY! SHE HAS MADE NUMEROUS ACCOMPLISHMENTS IN HER LIFE, TO INCLUDE BEING CROWNED THE FIRST AFRICAN AMERICAN TO WEAR THE CROWN OF “MISS DAYTONA BEACH FLORIDA” IN THE 1980’S, WHERE SHE RECEIVED THE KEY TO THE CITY. SHE WAS ALSO CHOSEN “MISS HOMECOMING” DURING HER COLLEGE YEARS AT BETHUNE-COOKMAN AND WENT ON TO BECOME 1ST RUNNER UP TO “MISS BLACK FLORIDA.” DR. JOHNSON IS A FORMER “TAMPA BAY BUCCANEER” CHEERLEADER AND HAS RECEIVED THE WHO’S WHO AMONG AMERICAN’S TEACHERS AWARD. DR. JOHNSON IS ONE OF 3 CHILDREN. SHE HAS A BROTHER WHO IS THE OVERSEER OF CHRIST OF CALVARY COMMUNITY CHURCH WHERE SHE SERVES AS PASTOR, AND DIRECTOR OF THE OUTREACH YOUTH MINISTRY, “MENTORS FORMINISTRY.” SHE HAS ONE SISTER, WHO IS HER TWIN. SHE IS THE WIFE OF ADRIANJOHNSON WHO IS A retired High School P.E. teacher and head basketball coach. She is the mother of 2. DR. JOHNSON AND HER TWIN SISTER BOTH RECEIVED THE DR. MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. “UNSUNG HERO” AWARD IN 2003. SHE AND HER TWIN SISTER ALSO HAD THE LONGEST RUNNING TELEVISION SHOW ON PUBLIC ACCESS. SHE IS THE CEO OF THE NATIONAL JUNETEENTH AMBASSADOR INITIATIVE PROGRAM. SHE IS THE PRESIDENT OF THE TAMPA BAY JUNETEENTH COALITION, Vice President of the National Miss Juneteenth USA pageant and serves as the state representative for the National Juneteenth Observance Foundation. Her work in bringing notoriety to the importance of celebrating Juneteenth does not go unnoticed. She started the first Miss Juneteenth pageant here in Tampa and birthed the National Juneteenth ambassador Initiative program with students of all ages participating in becoming more educated on Black History and its roots. She has launched the first Juneteenth superhero, “The New Adventures of Juneteena Freeman,…AKA Crown”. The impact of the Juneteenth superhero has manifested into filming, a comic book, studio recording and more. She submitted her 1st episode of a 10 episode series to a Juneteenth film festival where it received honorable mention.
