I was born in Nassau Bahamas to my parents Lydia & MosesRolle. I am the mother of three beautiful daughters Candice, Vervellee andAmeilia. Grandmother of Lyra and have two siblings my sister Kate who is mybackbone and my brother Jermaine. Approaching almost 12 years of nursing I havetransitioned from my home country to my new journey in Nebraska, USA tocontinue as a Registered Nurse. I attended The School of Nursing and AlliedHealth Professions and graduated from The College of the Bahamas also nowcalled The University of The Bahamas with a Bachelors Degree of Science inNursing. As a novice nurse I started my profession in 2012 working at thePrincess Margaret Hospital on the Medical/ Surgical Unit and transitioned overto Critical Care Unit and worked there for 7 years. After almost 12 years ofnursing experience as a bedside nurse and working part time as a flight nurse with Air Ambulancein The Bahamas have all shaped my character, work ethics and my practice toprovide outstanding care to my patients. Being and showing empathy and having asense of humor makes it easier to talk to patients and family members. Atypical day for me as a nurse includes, assessing, intervening and settingrealistic goals to promote a holistic approach while listening and educating mypatients. I am a Registered Nurse from the BahamasNursing Council and Board certified in the State of Nebraska. I am certified inTrauma Nursing and attained other certifications in Advanced CardiopulmonaryLife Support(ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Basic Life Support(BLS), Microsoft Word & Excel. Before Nursing I was the former Proprietorof Exclusive Touch Beauty and Barber Salon. I am in the process of pursing myMaster's Degree in Nursing Education in order to mentor and empower youngerwomen and aspiring nursing students to help them grow professionally andpersonally. I would like to aspire them to believe in their goals and dreams inorder to soar to new horizons. Also, to tell them to never stop learning newthings don't care how old you get. Focus on the possibilities, have faith inGod which will help you overcome any obstacle. When adversities come your way a positivemindset and resilience is everything to become a conqueror. I am living proofbecause I started from humble beginnings and will also remain humble andgrateful no matter what circumstance I find myself in. I remain steadfast andpassionate about nursing practice. My future goal is to one day be aeducator in my profession and develop an online school to empower young womenregardless of your situation, background, economic/ financial status you canpursue your dreams. I have the ability to embrace change, pursue knowledge andcontinue to develop strong communication skills to foster conducive andproductive young women.
