MERRY CITOLI is an award winning singer/songwriter and has been playing piano since the age of 11. She later studied voice at Colorado State University and is a member of the Minnesota Music Academy, and a writer/publisher member of ASCAP. In 1982 she was accepted as an apprentice songwriter for the Grammy Award winning producer, Bob Harrington, formerly with RCA Records. One of Merry's CDs “Phantoms,” secured a publishing contract for two songs off the CD with DMS Producers, a New York Publishing firm that places for Film and T.V. Merry’s talent is wide ranging. She wrote and recorded a single “Someday When Christmas Never Ends,” with her sister Gina for a Minneapolis DJ. Just one airing of the song lit up the KJO-104 switchboard. “Someday” became the hottest record of the season on a rock and roll station! The girls’ hot single was later aired by dozens of stations stretching from Chicago to Seattle. Said K-JO program director Gary Rawn, “Someday” has tremendous potential as an American holiday standard.” Some of Merry’s most recent accomplishments include an Honorable Mention in a songwriters contest for The International Singer/Songwriter’s Association. Her song "The Shadow" was produced by Merry Citoli and Co-Engineered by Joseph Rusinek who has engineered work with Alice Cooper. "The Shadow" was also recently picked up by Karnal Promotions for soundtrack placement in film and t.v. Merry’s song "Phantoms" was selected by Just Talents 2, a compilation CD for independent artists being released by Sony Distribution in 40 different countries. "Phantoms" has also made the quarter finalists at ourstage.com a site where the fans select the winners. Merry also made the finalists for singer of the month in the Singer’s Studio vocalist talent contest, and the semi finals for Mike Pinder’s (The Moody Blues) Songwars Contest. In addition, her song "Can't Go Back" was a top finalist in the Sandra James songwriting contest in 2010. She has written a Fantasy/Musical Screenplay called "The Queen of Synchronicity" that made the finalists in the 2016 International Family Film Festival. In the last few years Merry joined Stage 32, an online networking site for emerging film writers where she has done numerous webinars and mentorships with Nicky Levy from Fox Animation and Ryan Christians when he worked in development for Walt Disney Studios. She is currently working on the follow-up to that screenplay, "The Abjurer."
