Born and raised across the bay in Tampa, Martha Matthews Vasquez enjoys spending time on the beaches of Pinellas County. She believes in giving back to the thriving multicultural communities nested in the Tampa Bay Area. She has served as a director and president of the board of her condo association. Martha also served as the chair of the City of Belleair Beach Board of Adjustment. These roots of community service and commitment have provided Martha with a vested interest in the people and projects in the Tampa Bay Area, as well as the connections and savvy necessary to navigate the complicated waters of working with city officials, codes and regulations. Martha’s years of leadership and dedication are fueled by a passion for preserving the beauty of the Bay: from its rich history and its exotic marine life, to its diverting landscape and its diverse people. Martha earned her bachelor’s from Emory University and her Paralegal Certification from Capital University Law School in Columbus, Ohio. Equipped with the ability to read and understand legal contracts and the legal system, Martha went on to become an Enrolled Agent, a federally authorized tax practitioner empowered by the US Department of Treasury to represent taxpayers before all administrative levels—examination, collection and appeals of the Internal Revenue Service. This includes the tax implications of real estate transactions.
