Mari Dwyer was formerly with Gene Juarez Salons and Spas for 36 years and has always been involved in education. She taught British haircutting techniques for several years, developed curriculum for education in the rapidly expanding company and led the educational team for Gene Juarez. Years later, when the company switched hair cutting techniques to the French method, Mari found the need for advanced hairdressing education and special occasion hair. She started a program that allowed all the designers at Gene Juarez Salons the opportunity to advance their career and go to classes that Mari offered in the evening at the Advance Training Salon. Mari offered an advanced training program including the study of fashion, including hairstyles from the runways, red carpet and other inspiration for special occasion classes. Her students also studied the inspiration from fashion designers, researched the inspiration in history, and discovered the root of where the inspiration came from. Mari believes that it is important to use all of this knowledge, and enjoys sharing these tidbits of facts with her clients while in the chair! Named by Vogue Magazine as Seattle’s Best Hair Dresser, Mari has also won several awards in education. Mari is known throughout the Northwest for her imagination and rich detail to her finished work. She has educated and inspired hundreds of hair dressers. Mari has dedicated 38 years to perfecting her craft, creating exceptional and noteworthy hair for countless blissful brides. Mari developed a certification program at Gene Juarez, so artists could receive price increases according to their skill level by attending classes and practicing their craft. Through all these years of education, Mari has developed comprehensive classes for every level of hairdresser.
