I am Renee Jones, also known as Linda Byers. I define resilience after the loss of a brother, my children’s father and just a year ago, the loss of a son. Losing three kings has allowed me to be a living testimony that excellence is not defined by the number of awards one achieves, nor is it defined by the highest education one can receive. Excellence is recognized by strength within a queen who has triumphed and victoriously rose above challenges that keeps our community oppressed due to traumatic experiences. The TikTok “ ageless beauty 68 “ defines grace of God's timing slowing down the aging process on my biological clock. Now I'm a trending “ Age defying grandmother “ on my new journey. My aim for being the next woman in power magazine is not due to recognition of any accolades. My aim is to be a voice as well as inspiration for many women leaders who have served our communities for years and have not received recognition for their contributions. I am also a prime example to not look like what I've been through. Through my mental health journey of losing Kings to gun violence and suicide, it has truly made me recognize the strength within. The following quote describes my journey: “I’ve walked through the fiery furnace and not have one strand of hair cinched and have shared a den with lions without getting ripped apart.” It's called favor over my life as being chosen and anointed in this journey we call life. I've consistently found true strength through serving others in need. It helped me to get my mind off of my trauma and allowed my test(s) to become testimonies. Trusting God and his process was and is the only way I stand today. “ I pass the torch of encouragement to women who have walked a mile in my shoes and I inspire them all to be suited with God's armor & keep striving on their journey for what lies ahead. Rewards await those who endure to the end. I’ve had so many set backs, but my God has refuged my come backs as well as my gains. I truly didn’t know what hurt felt like until losses defined my pain. I am the next woman in power from a humble place that social media platforms, money , education nor awards can ever define. My message to many is "even the underdogs deserve recognition, and it will all align in due time. Matthew 20:16 “So the last will be first, and the first will be last.”
