My grandfather was successful. He was in real estate and helped people, He always taught me to never put your eggs in one basket. If you want something bad enough go for it and succeed. Be passionate. Life is a journey not a race. Never quit. You have to set goals, and challenge yourself. I came from a small mill town, had a challenging childhood, but I overcame. I started working at age 14 and became a Nursing Assistant at 16. I had to work hard for what I wanted to achieve. I was the youngest of 4 and I was the only one in family who wanted to go to college and I did and graduated in Nursing. My father was of the idea that women married, had children and their place was at home. I wanted more. I worked in all areas of nursing, ICU and ER, along with others. I was always striving to learn more and became an instructor of CPR, and Certified Nursing assistant and EKG. I became regional Nurse for assisted living. I am divorced with 3 wonderful children, 2 boys and a girl. My daughter's name was Amanda and I lost her at age 29 with rare condition. I am raising her daughter, who is 12 years old and has the same condition NF . My strength comes from God because without him I would fall. I believe we can do all things through his strength. When my daughter passed, I came into contact with a high school friend that I secretly had strong feelings for. On the day of my daughter's funeral he tapped me on my shoulder and ask if I remembered him , All the memories came pouring back for him as well as me. We feel that my angel daughter helped us find each other again. He is a strong person in my life and we have been together 4 years and our love is strong. We are in business together to change peoples life and give back. Our legacy is our families. We want to pay it forward. God is first, family and then business. Placing God first, the rest will come. It has not been easy at times and there will be struggles along the way, but when you are given lemons, make lemonade. There is always a solution to problems, never quit or give up. Through it all, the ups and downs, I have a Blessed life .
