About Me

Dr. Laurie Bernadette Midgette, E.D., DD, has served in K-12 public education for nearly 40 years in Brooklyn, New York. In 2010, Dr. Midgette founded a charter school in Brownsville, East New York.  The award-winning International Baccalaureate IB World School has been recognized by K-12 Digest as the “Most Admired International School in North America.” Laurie Midgette has earned two Congressional Certificates, a Samuel P. Peabody Award, and received NYC Teacher of the Year recognition. Dr. Midgette serves as a facilitator for the Harvard Graduate School of Education and has participated in global learning tours to many countries. She has served in the Army National Guard Reserves, and is also an International Christian Chaplain; and  serves as the Eastern Regional Chaplain for Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Dr. Midgette is a lifetime member of NCNW and Girl Scouts USA.
