Ms. Kesha J. Davenport

(Business Owner)

About Me

I am a self-driven ambitious professional with a passion to contribute to businesses maintaining their objectives and goals for growth.  My background offers a wide range of experiences which includes accounting, customer service, and administrative office operations. I am originally from Chicago, IL and moved to St. Paul, MN at the age of 17 with my first child.  I was a young single mother desiring a stable and peaceful environment for my child to grow. I have worked for a few reputable companies where I've enhanced my skills in accounting and customer service. In 1998, I started working for a tax office where I learned how to prepare and process tax filings. The business was very lucrative which influence my desire to be a business owner in this field.  Over the next 15 years, I moved to Georgia and faced a lot of hardship, loss, and lack of confidence.  In May 2011, I was terminated from my employer of five years which led me down a path of devastation.  By August 2011, I was a single mom, homeless, living in a shelter with my second child whom suffered from severe asthma.  In November 2011, someone contacted me from a social media network with a proposal to work from home as a contactor.  I was able to work from my room in the shelter and I saved up enough money to be successfully back in a home by Feb. 2012.  The opportunity saved our lives!  I worked from home answering customer services calls until Feb. 2017.  Every year, I would process less than 10 tax returns because I did not have the client base.In Feb. 2017, I moved to Houston, TX and started working in the oil and gas industry as executive admin.  I loved this job and the people I worked with.  I felt self-confidence, motivation, and more faith than ever! I started thinking of how I could get some exposure for my own tax business but of course I had a job so my own success would keep waiting.  May 2020, COVID19 issues led to my contract ending due to the drop of revenue and need for oil and gas.  Finally, I've decided that now is the time for me to focus on my growth as I realize I am expendable to any other person's business.  I have great skills and I communicate well with others.  I am currenting marketing my business seeking growth. I am proud of how far I have come although I am not where I want to be.  Each day I wake is my opportunity to keep working towards success.
