About Me

  • Katy Elizabeth (DOB April 5, 1985) was born in Warwick Rhode Island. She is the worlds leading authority on the Lake Champlain Monster. Katy has been studying the existence of unknown aquatic creatures named "Champ" since a child. She made her lifelong dream into reality when she had her sighting and experiences of one of these elusive creatures on Lake Champlain. It prompted her to start her group called “Champ Search”.

She is also the president and founder of the newly launched International Dracontology Alliance, an organization dedicated to the scientific study of Lake Creatures worldwide, and the president/producer of Unclassified Films, an independent production company.

In 2018 she was honored with an official world record as the only full-time Dedicated Woman Lake Monster Hunter in the world.

Also in 2018, Katy approached the town of Port Henry NY known as the "Home of Champ" with a written resolution to protect Champ. In April 2018, this law was passed by the NY state legislature.

She has been featured on numerous radio and television programs worldwide, including the History Channel's "In Search of Aliens" with Giorgio Tsoukalos, The Travel Channel (Expedition X with Josh Gates), Discovery Channel, The Science Channel, NBC, and the CW Network.

Katy has done an extensive amount of work with cetaceans (Whales & Dolphins) recording their sounds in the North Atlantic, off the Florida coast, as well as trekking through the sub-tropical terrain in search of the Skunk Ape.

In 2022, she was awarded four Gold awards at the International Fortean Film Festival for her upcoming documentary “Lady of the Lake: The Search for Champ. She is the author of the new book “Water Horse of Lake Champlain: The Search.” available on amazon.com.
