(Nurse)

About Me

Ever since I was a little girl always wanted to be a nurse. After I graduated from high school I joined the US Army to start my medical career as a medical corpsman. I enrolled in the military for 4 years. After I was Honorably discharged I worked with the government for 20 years as a Nursing Assistant working with Pediatric Leukemia patients, Heart and Lung Oncology patients, and Gastrointestinal disease patients. I obtained my Licensed Practical Nursing license and I started working with the Henry Jackson Foundation as a Research LPN. I worked primarily with breast cancer patients assisting the doctors in the procedure room doing breast biopsies. I also had to sign patients up to participate in the Tissue and Blood Research Protocols. I retired last year and I am currently working with Human Touch Home Healthcare as a geriatric nurse.

I am working with patients who have various illnesses such as cancer, diabetes, heart, lung and kidney diseases. They also have dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. Nursing is my passion, it is a very rewarding career and this is my purpose in life.
