Mrs. Heather I. Potter

(Handyman)

About Me

I was born in 1981 on June 27th in Tampa, Florida to Jennie Ellis and Ronald Moore. I'm the youngest of seven. I grew up on a small farm in Fort Lonesome, Florida, and was raised by several strong- willed women. My mother, Jennie Ellis, Aunt Sharon Ellis, my big sister, Sandra (Denney) Anderson, and stepmother, Diane Carpenter. These women showed me how to have a good work ethic, as well as being a Christian, who knows the Lord will provide! I'm happily married to my high school sweetheart, Thomas Potter II. We have two beautifully, amazing children, Briana Rose, 17, and Cody Glenn, 14. They are my heart and soul! After graduating from high school, I became a full- time mother at the age of 19! Shortly after my son was born, I decided to attend college, part time, at Everest University where I received my Associates in Science for Criminal Justice (April 2009). I never used my degree, as I wanted to continue to be a full- time mother. I decided after my daughter started her senior year in high school, that I wanted to go back to work. After 18 yrs of no job history, I was having problems finding work. I became very discouraged. After filling out several applications and being denied job after job, my husband looked at me and said, “Sweetie, you have a lot of experience in doing odd and end jobs, why don't you start your own business?” This is how Handyman Task Force Services LLC began! August 6, 2018, I completed my first job for one of the sweetest women I've come to call a friend, Patricia Santiago! Since mowing her lawn, I have done a total of 84 jobs. I've done various jobs like lawn care and landscaping, home repairs, exterior/interior painting, and paver installation, to name a few. My goal with my business is to provide my customers with a fair price, quality work, and such a pleasurable experience that not only do they want to call me again, but also pass my information on to their family and friends. Most of my customers, I have the pleasure of calling family friends today! Life, to me, means family and friends who you can trust and who trust you. I live my life “One step at a time". It's my motto! I'm truly a happier person being able to work for myself. It has had its ups and downs, but it has been worth it! With everything I've accomplished in the last 37 yrs, I'm now the proud owner of Handyman Task Force Services LLC. I've been with my loving husband for nearly 24 years and still raising my babies. It's such a pleasure to be recognized as an empowering woman! I was raised by one, as well as raising one! With the Lord and my family by my side, there is nothing I can not accomplish. My arms are wide open for what the future has in store.
