Dr. Florence Funmilola Folami is the Founder and the President of Cross of Christ Hospital and the co-founder of the Cross of Christ Orphanage Home in Akute, Ogun State. She was formally the coordinator of the Nursing Program at the Department of Nursing Science, Faculty of Clinical Sciences, College of Medicine, University of Lagos, Idi Araba, Lagos. She was also formally an associate professor at Millikin University, Decatur, Illinois, USA and a Lactation Consultant for St. Mary Hospital, Decatur, Illinois, USA. Florence has worked in the maternal-child health field since 1987. She began her career as an IBCLC in 2008. She is the founder and the coordinator of the Breastfeeding Support Group, Decatur, Illinois and was formerly the President of Board of Directors of Family Advocacy of Champaign, Illinois. Her years of continuous contribution to the nursing profession are marked by not only her scholarship but by her visible leadership roles. Dr. Folami continues to be a premier leader and an accomplished administrator in the field of nursing. Her accomplishments and commitment to public service and nursing go unmatched by any other. She has received several grants, awards and certifications. Among these are Health Care Innovation Challenge Grant, International Course in Traditional Chinese Medicine Award, Global Impact Corps Fellow Award, Certificate in Global Health & Program Delivery, International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) - Global Certification for Lactation Consultants. She is a keynote speaker at various conferences and seminars nationally and internationally. Her contributions to research in nursing profession have been recognized widely. She has published over 20 articles in both National and International journals.
