Ms. Dusty Rhoades

(Nurse Practitioner)

About Me

I primarily worked in the Dallas area for the majority of my career, with my last job being at Medical City Children's Dallas. I was a charge nurse in the ER there from 2014 until I graduated and passed boards. Prior to that I was at Baylor Dallas, and Children's Health. I lived and breathed emergency medicine for most of my life.

I realized along the way, that at some point I was going to need to slow down, for those of you that are not familiar with emergency medicine, it takes a physical toll on you. It drains you mentally and physically every day, and I was also tired of jumping through all the hoops of corporate medicine.

I decided I wanted to try and help people in a different way, I was ready to practice a new kind of medicine. I wanted to help people in a preventative way, I wanted to practice wellness medicine, rather than waiting until someone is sick, I wanted to help keep them from getting sick, and all that encompasses.

In January of 2024, I opened Rhoades Family Practice on a wing and a prayer. I actually love what I do. God has blessed me and this practice beyond words. This practice continues to grow and touch lives daily in ways that I would have never imagined possible.  If you ask me what one of my biggest fears in life is, I will tell you, "getting to the end of my life and knowing I have not made a difference in the world," and I truly hope that this practice is God's way of helping me make an impact.

Medicine is my ministry ✝️

That brings me to who I am as a provider, and my thoughts on practicing medicine.

As a provider, you have to encompass a level of professionalism. This means encompassing honesty, integrity, morals, and ethics into your practice. Patients have to be able to trust you as a provider, and integrity breeds trust. Patients cannot receive adequate care without a level of trust, knowing their provider is going to do what is in their best interest, even when it is not easy to do so. It may not always be the answer you want to hear, or the easiest path, but it will always adhere to a good standard of treatment, a safe standard of treatment. One that I would provide to my own family, and that is what you can always expect from me here at Rhoades Family Practice

God has blessed me with a wonderful career, and given me the ability to help others and I am grateful to do so ❤️
