About Me

Debbie was born and raised in Chicago and currently resides in the Village of Olympia Fields, Illinois. She has lived in the Southland for more than 40 years. She is a respected visionary leader with over 20 years of commendable achievement. Debbie is currently the 38th District State Representative of Illinois. Prior to becoming State Representative of the 38th Legislative District she provided public service as a member of The South/Southwest United Way team, served on Metropolitan Mayors Caucus-Economic Development Committee, was appointed by Governor Quinn to serve on the Environmental Justice Committee, a member of Prairie State College’s President’s Advisory Committee, Community Relations Committee for both Country Club Hills and Olympia field. She has held membership in a broad variety of professional and civic organizations and served as Principal for a Day. Debbie Meyers-Martin was the Community Affairs Marketing Specialist for the Illinois State Treasurer’s Office from April of 2007 till 2018. She was responsible for marketing all Illinois State Treasurer Programs including the I-Cash, Illinois Funds and Bright Start Programs. Additionally, in her Treasurer’s Office capacity, she also serves as the liaison to all local Chambers of Commerce, Small Business Development Centers, Economic Development Councils and south suburban municipalities in the State of Illinois. Ms. Meyers-Martin served as Mayor of Olympia Fields from 2010 to 2017. During her Mayoral duration she was President of South Suburban Mayors and Managers Association for the year of 2016. From the Illinois General Assembly House of Representatives consisting of 118 State Representatives, we have, Ms. Debbie Meyers-Martin who is the Democratic State Representative of the 38th Legislative District of 15 Municipalities that include all of or portions of University Park, Frankford, Mokena, Tinley Park, Oak Forest, Olympia Fields, Park Forest, Matteson, Richton Park, Harvey, Markham, Hazel Crest, Country Club Hills, Homewood and Flossmoor. Debbie Meyers-Martin is committed to effectively serving the 38th District and to the creation of an enhanced quality of life for the entire southland. She also actively leads volunteer teams in the Southland territory. At her core, she is a humanitarian and has an immense passion for serving people especially now in her 38th District.
