I believe strongly in second chances. I know people do change. I am living proof. Never in my wildest dreams did I think that NJ Reentry Corporation would not only acknowledge me, but also my organization. I am so involved with NJRC and my own passion, the Compassion Mission. I started this idea when my father committed suicide in 2014. Once again, out of a really tragic situation, I used it as motivation, more importantly; I turned that lesson into a blessing. From that point on, I promised myself that I need to offer help through my own experiences. Life has thrown me countless trials and tribulations, from each it has shown and taught me through experience, again, I can help someone else. Miraculously, I broke the cycle of abuse, violence and no longer used the excuse that I'm just a product of my environment. I stopped justifying my poor decisions and bad behavior, just because the way I was raised, as a reason to act reckless. Now I help guide other women to success. I can honestly say that I am genuinely and truly proud of who I am.
