I have an extensive list of experience advocating and helping young people in their transition to adulthood. My career in youth development spans only seven years, but my conviction and enthusiasm are extremely genuine. I have recent relevant experience assisting middle school students (grades 5 – 8) with Literature, History, and Composition. My approach to tutoring is simple; find the students interests and connect the subject to the student in palatable terms. For many years, I have worked with the town of West Hartford at polling events during the elections. I have proven relationship-building skills with representatives from government entities and community-based organizations. My program resume includes: Multi-Cultural Community Alliance (MCCA) – We are a cross-section of local business people, bipartisan politicians all united for the betterment of Greater Hartford. W.I.S.D.O.M (Working Intensely Succeeding Deliberately Over Mountains) – We are a community based youth advocacy and hunger relief effort. Dress For Success – (Professional Women's Group) Women’s empowerment and advocacy group specializing in Life skills, and professional development Caribbean American Toastmasters Club of Hartford (VP of Marketing & Public Relations) – Public speaking discipline that helps facilitate competent communication. Currently, in my spare time I perform spoken word poetry locally. I am an active member of United Methodist Church of Hartford. I am on a mission to save the youth in our community!
