I was born and raised in the apple capital of the world : Wenatchee, WA. I enlisted in the United States Army right out of high school as an Airborne Combat Medic. I served 8 years active duty and then 3 years in the Army Reserves as an instructor and I was fortunate to have the opportunity to travel and train in different parts of the world. I’ve worked in a surgical ward in a United Nations compound and provided humanitarian assistance to earthquake survivors in Haiti. I got to jump out of a perfectly good airplane with soldiers from Thailand. I served my time in a combat zone in the grimy desert of Iraq. I acquired a lifelong love of sushi while stationed in Okinawa, Japan. This is also where I experienced the most beautiful, unconditional and no holds barred type of love. Peanut. aka my fur child. Not going to lie, he is pretty much the coolest dog I’ve ever known. After I completed the series for the first time, the changes I experienced were so profound, that the way I viewed every aspect of my life had shifted. As my body physically changed and found new ways to support my emotional and spiritual bodies, I finally had the freedom and clarity to let go of things, ideas, hurts, being wronged, as well as being the inflictor of wrongs. Soma isn’t this magical type of work that grants you external traits like courage and happiness. It instead provides you with different filters to examine in a safe space within yourself who you truly, deep down are. Everything that we require in order to have a satisfying, well-lived life and a passionate love affair with ourselves, we already have. Soma simply gives us different tools to work with to bring out the juiciness of our soul. This is why I practice this work, and this is why I will forever be passionate about empowering and lifting every single body I am honored to work with.
