Carroll joined Scott, Douglass law firm in 1980 when the practice centered on oil and gas litigation and regulation. Since then, she has continued to focus primarily on oil and gas issues, broadening the scope to include analysis and drafting of various oil and gas instruments and agreements, environmental regulation of exploration and production activities, other administrative agency matters, and mediation. Carroll became board certified in Oil, Gas and Mineral Law in 1986, and completed mediator training in 1994. In litigation matters, she has handled all types of oil and gas disputes and represents lessors, lessees, operators and non-operators across the state, at the trial and appellate level, and in state and federal court. Carroll frequently speaks and writes on oil and gas topics, and was a contributor to the Environmental Law volumes of the Texas Practice series (2005).
