Carol Ann Radcliffe was born and raised in Manhattan. After a brief career in real estate, she wasinspired to take up quilting in order to make a wedding shower gift for herbest friend. She continued quilting byhand and eventually branched out into longarm quilting using a Statler/Gammelmachine.
Her advice to new quilters is to “take a class and see howyou like it.” There are all kinds of quilting machines available, both new andsecondhand, so research is key. She saysnot to become discouraged too early, and that it’s common to visit manydifferent quilting shops before you find your niche.
