Born in California, just north east of Los Angeles, I always had an interest in Hollywood. Screenwriting for television and film filled my dreams as a young woman. I was a Calligrapher, artist and created my own greeting cards, entitled: Hody Cards. Then it was the late 80's... and I discovered that when between writing screenplays and being a mother... it was a particular piece of music I heard one day that sharply influenced my direction. It was a beautiful instrumental piece entitled: Aerial Boundaries by Michael Hedges - and it was in VHS format, accompanied by a video of beautiful rivers, waterfalls and landscapes. I was stunned by this! The music and the visual, together had a profound impact on me. (much like a movie can) Eventually, I invested in some graphic design education, PhotoShop in particular and discovered I had a passion for creating Art on computer, especially when inspired by the magic of music, gentle music. (Sometimes even now I move my mouse or fingers on the keypad to the rhythm of the music I'm listening to when creating art.) In early 2001, I had my own TV Show on Public Access TV, called: Dare to go Digital With Brenda Starr. It was exciting but I was still quite raw at it. However, the music along with the Art, was absolutely amazing!!! In 2012 I was accepted by a prestigious gallery in Cambria, Ca. called: Artifacts. I remained a featured artist there for 2 1/2 years - my work sold on BOLD, glossy metal as it still does today under my company BstarrArt. I will soon have my own gallery called: The Healing Heart Gallery - my goal, my purpose. Why? Because that is the most important discovery of this whole journey. When I create the art that I do, approaching it like I do - it heals me. Heals my spirit...my heart.
