Bonnie Goldsmith Danowski is alifelong innovator, writer, teacher and advocate for society’s mostvulnerable: those at the beginning, atthe end, and in the shadows of life. Shewas caregiver for her husband, Jim, who was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosisin 1971 until his death in 2013. Shecares for her son, who lives with her and has a bi-polar/co-occurringdisability.
Accomplishments include serving onlocal, state, and national councils, boards, and committees addressinghealthcare and quality of life issues. Numerous papers and presentations throughout the country includeI AThe Path Beckoned; I Answered Yes, her first book published in 2022. Other writings include topics of spirituality, health care, equality,caregiving, grief, and advocacy.
Innovation, Recognition and Awardsare many. To name a few: co-founding the Phoenix Catholic DioceseOffice for People with Disabilities; She is a co-founding chair of Valley InterfaithProject, a broad-based organization; began The Office of Peace and Justice atthe Franciscan Renewal Center; chair of the AZ Chapter of MS Society AdvocacyCommittee and member of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society’s AdvocacyCouncil. As co-founder of the AZ Caregiver Coalition, wrote legislationestablishing the Arizona Lifespan Respite Care Act, which continues to providerespite to hundreds of families.
