April Rogers is a spirit filled woman of God who was called at an early age by re-citing scriptures, even having never read the bible. Her deep compassion for others showed at the tender age of fourteen when she gathered some of her peers and formed an advocacy group for poor children who could not attend school since it was five or more miles away from their homes. Minister Rogers won many awards in school because she studied hard and taught her peers and siblings the importance of education. She is a native New Yorker, who grew up in Denmark, South Carolina where she lived with her grandmother and attended elementary, middle and high school, and graduated top in her class in 1981.
