My name is Angelica M. Arambula (Angel). I am the Sr. Financial Analyst at the University of Chicago Professional Education. I am earning my Ph.D. in Accounting, and my future goal is to become a Professor teaching accounting and financial literacy at a university level. I hope that one day, I can use my professional experience to give back to my community and offer courses or classes that will help enhance the perception of financial literacy. I am a single mother of a beautiful boy and come from a low-income community. There were not many opportunities in my community and not a great deal of significant influence on becoming successful. I have overcome many obstacles and cultural statistics. I am a Hispanic woman, with many challenges to overcome still, and many challenges overcame. Being a single mother gives you strength and purpose that comes from a Higher Power to follow your dreams so that you can be the one to break generational curses. It's not about wealth or stature; it's about being better than you were yesterday to inspire other women to do the same. I have received a lot of criticism about dreams that I still wanted to accomplish even though all odds were against me. I hope my triumph and my story inspire the other single mother, the other young woman who comes from an unhealthy, lower-income community, the woman with very little support and not many resources, with all challenges against her, that she too can overcome and be the woman God created her to be—inspiring one-person, inspiring others.
