Prior to her present position, Dr. Daniel’s served as the Deputy City Manager for the City of North Miami, the sixth largest municipality in Miami-Dade County, with nearly 62,000 residents, for nearly 3 years, overseeing all of the customer facing and operational departments. Dr. Daniel has extensive management, financial, and operational experience, having led large operations and overseen budgets of up to $600 million. She previously served as the Deputy Director of the City of Fort Lauderdale Public Works Department, where she oversaw water, wastewater, stormwater, and other public works functions. As the Assistant Director of Miami Dade County Solid Waste Management, she oversaw the waste collection operations for 2.5 years. Prior to that, she oversaw all administrative departments, including budget, accounting, human resources, procurement, communications, IT, auditing, and intergovernmental affairs. As a Budget Analyst in the Office of Management and Budget, she was responsible for various departmental budgets and projects..
Dr. Daniel is a true public servantwho believes in the value of public service. She believes in finding strategicsolutions to problems and improving processes for more efficient and effectivesolutions.
She actively participates in several civic and professional organizations. She is a member of the National Forum for Black Public Administrators (NFBPA), serving as a national board member, vice president for the Council of Presidents, and local president for the South Florida Chapter, which includes Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties. Additionally, she is involved in various other professional organizations. She mentors many individuals through the NFBPA and has previously mentored through organizations such as Big Brothers Big Sisters, Girl Power, and other unofficial channels.
Dr. Daniel earned a Ph.D. in Business from Florida Atlantic University, holds a Master of Science in Management fromSt. Thomas University and a Bachelor's from Barry University with aconcentration in Finance.
